With a complete team, at times it was a mixed display of football due to the heavy ground but it turned into a goal-fest for the home side. Warriors’ immediately exerted pressure onto Edwaltons goal and on two minutes took the lead with a blistering first goal as captain Owen Burke opened the Warriors account. It took another 10 minutes for the action to pick up again with missed opportunities wasted but halfway through the first half Joe Gillan scored two goals in as many minutes to take the Warriors to a 3 –0 lead. Also waiting to get on the score sheet was Curtis Rigley who put the ball in the Edwalton net for Warriors fourth, then minutes later left footer Jack Bradley, making a return to the side after injury, scored the fifth as half time approached, George Blatherwick gave the Warriors a 6-0 lead at half time.

game of two halves and after starting the 2nd half well Long Eaton
