Not the best start to the league season but a performance that we can be very proud of !!!!

Well done to each of the 10 players !! Myself and Nick were impressed with the competitiveness of the team and the quality they showed. Yes we played perhaps the best team in the County and gave them a game. Every player gave more than 100% and should take great pride in the way they played.  If we had 11 we could have tested Ashfield even further!

We started very brightly and looked a match for them in the first twenty minutes or so. Unfortunately a mistake allowed Ashfield a first goal and second followed quickly thereafter it was always going to an uphill stuggle. But everyone stuck to their task showing courage and commitment. Second half brought another two goals as the team tired under the pressure.

Andreas was  MOtM delivering another outstanding performance but the other 9 were not far behind!! Adam Fox and Bernie Kirk gave excellent debuts in the middle of the park. Sam Stewart produced another top captain’s performance. But all deserve a big pat on the back and they all secured their place in the starting 11 next week in the Cup.

excellent performance against glapwell – once we have a fit squad we’ll do really well this year – we should fear no team !!!

Hi All

Just a few things

1. I hope to use Manager’s views – as a message board save sending last minute texts !! And we can put responsibility on the boys to keep up to speed ?!?

2. Training – this week 23rd September at Titchy at 6.15 pm . From next week we will be at Goosedale 6 – 7pm.

3. Desparatelyneed ideas for fund raising – we have no funds left after the purchase of all the new kit !!

Not a great start to the new season but it is encouraging we have been playing good football for the most part – and when we get a full squad back fully fit I’m sure the results will start reflecting the performances.
