Hucknall Sports 20 v Hucknall Warriors 0

Goal scorers: No Warriors Goals
Match type: League
Man of the match: Sam Butler
Match Location: Home

Something of a mismatch in this Young Elizabethan League Under11 Sunday 3rd Division game, which had a ring of predictability about it as Hucknall Sports ran out winners by 20 goals to 0.  Sports formerly of division 1 Saturday were rampant from the off despite efforts by Kimball Humphries and latterly Kyle Cork in goal.

Defenders Kane Pickard, Austin Baker, Darren Pyket and Harry Wright were overun repeatedly but tried their best to play football as did midfielders Josh Clayton, Lewis Toop, Liam Bembridge and Blake Swannel, but the chasm of ability between the sides made this impossible.  Half time saw the visitors 10-0 down.

The second half saw man-of-the-match Sam Butler have a couple of chances fall to him from rogue clearances but saves from the Sports keeper denied him.

Final Score Hucknall Sports 20 Hucknall Warriors 0

Squad for this match: Kimball Humphries, Harry Wright, Josh Clayton, Lewis Toop, Liam bembridge, Blake Swannell, George Seddon, Austin Baker, Sam Butler, kane Pickard, Kyle Cork, Darren Pykett. (Jabob Rowland absent - on holiday)

Hucknall Warriors 0 v Stapleford Villa 8

Goal scorers: None
Match type: League
Man of the match: George Seddon
Match Location: Home

Yet another gutsy performance from the Warriors who held their own for 27 minutes of their latest Young Elizabethan division 3 match but they came away with nothing as Stapleford scored three quickfire second half goals to ensure they took all three points away with them.

It was a scrappy start with both teams failing to get a hold on the game as defending against a strong wind Warriors found themselves camped in their own half but goalkeeper Kimball Humphries didn’t have much to do as terrier like defending from Liam Bembridge, Lewis Toop,Blake Swannell and the fit again Kyle Cork kept Stapleford at bay. Humpries was called into action when he quickly came of his line to deny a stapleford striker in a one on one and was really unfortunate as Stapleford took the lead on the stroke of half time, a good shot was blocked by a Warriors defender but the Sapleford player reacted quickly to head the ball over Kimball Humphries despairing reach and into the goal. Joshua Clayton then was unlucky as his shot from George Seddons corner was cleared of the line as the half time whistle blew.

With the locals still very much in the game it was imperitive that they started the second half well and to put the previously winless Stapleford Villa side under some pressure but three quickfire goals ended the game as a contest. Still though Kane Pickard and Austin Baker tried to inject some pressure on Stapleford defence and Sam Butler who had scored in the previous two games kept plugging away but all to no avail as the locals failed to score for the first time this season.

Pegasus Youth U11 11 – Hucknall Warriors U11 1

Goal scorers: Sam Butler
Match type: League
Man of the match: Liam Bembridge
Match Location: Away

Hucknall Warriors played their first away match in the Young Elizabethan League Sunday Division 3 Under 11 against Pegasus Youth.  Warriors started brightly and despite an early goal against, managed to apply pressure on the Pegasus goal and with a good ball into the box by George Seddon panic ensued.  Jacob Rowland challenged for the lofted ball and created the chance for Sam Butler who managed to get the final touch to head home and equalise for Warriors.

Pegasus managed a second shortly after but defenders Harry Wright, Lewis Toop, and Austin Baker battled well with Liam Bembridge (man of the match) a Collosuss for most of the game.

Another great ball in by George Seddon created  a chance and in the mellee that followed Warriors were awarded a penalty and a chance to equalise again.  The penalty kick beat the keeper but unfortunately beat the cross bar also and flew just over.

Pegasus drew strength from the let off and surged forward in numbers despite sterling efforts from Josh Clayton who was like a terrier in midfield and Kane Pickard who tried to get forward at every opportunity.

Despite some good saves from Kimball Humphries, and a dramatic clearance off the line by Jacob Rowlands, Warriors struggled to clear from goal kicks and consequently conceded a raft of goals making it 7-1 at half time.

Blake Swannel and Darren Pykett bolstered the defence in the second half and allowed Austin Baker opportunities to race down the line and threaten the Pegasus goal.  Sam Butler again looked threatening on two or three occasions with Kane Pickard looking for the crumbs.  Kimbal Humphries came out of goal and fought well in midfield as his replacement George seddon look assured and cleared well.

Liam Bembridge had a towering performance against a good attacking force, but were just overrun and a final score of 11 -1 flattered the home side.

Another team display to take many positives from.

Hucknall Warriors U11 v Clifton All Whites U11

Goal scorers: Sam Butler
Match type: League
Man of the match: Kyle Cort
Match Location: Home

Sunday 12th September 2010 brought the first Young Elizabethan League Sunday Under 11 Division 3 game of the season with Hucknall Warriors hosting a Clifton All Whites side who quickly got off to an early lead.  However for the early part of the game the two sides were well matched.  All Whites kicked the ball out to enable a Warriors player to be treated, and Warriors tried to give the ball back to the keeper, but the pass fell short and a Warriors striker instinctively put the ball in the back of the net.  Realising the mistake Warriors allowed All Whites to run through unchallenged to score straight from the kick off to keep the sporting integrity of the club intact.  This made it 2-1.

All Whites began to dominate possession for a spell and despite brave efforts from defenders Blake Swannel, Kyle Cork, Harry Wright and Lewis Toop several quick goals were conceded.  Liam Bembridge helped the defence, from midfield, during a difficult spell, with great endeavour.  Other notable episodes in the first half included a great finish by striker Sam Butler having run clear, to give Warriors a second goal.  Also a superb acrobatic save made the crowd gasp as Kimball Humphries tipped the ball over the bar from a fierce shot. Half -time score showed Warriors with an 8-2 deficit.

In the second half, midfielders  George Seddon, Austin Baker, Kane Pickard and Darren Pykett worked tirelessly to break up moves and feed the ball through and Warriors could have nabbed a couple more goals.  Jacob Rowland and Josh Clayton came on to boulster the midfield efforts and inhibit All Whites to just four more goals.  Man of the match Kyle Cork remained defiant to the end and without his great tackling there could have been more goals for the All Whites.

Full time score – Warriors 2 Clifton All Whites 12, but some signs of improvement for the sporting and never-say-die Warriors team.

Hucknall Warriors U10′s 1 v Market Warsop U10′s 5

Hucknall Warriors under 10′s concluded their under 10′s season with a dissapointing 5-1 defeat against Market Warsop.

It was however another good performance and they can count themselves a shade unlucky that they didnt score more goals and make the scorline look a little better.

Warriors almost got off to a dream start when a Warsop player handled in the box but Ellis Osbornes well struck penalty was hit just wide. Warriors were dominating but just couldnt find the back of the net as Kane Pickards effort was denied by a brilliant save by the Warsop goalkeeper. Warriors were looking strong at the back with Kimball Humphries a mere spectator until a Market Warsop player let rip with a stunning 20 yard effort that flew into the top corner. This stunned the Warriors whose heads seemed to visibly go down and Warsop added two more quick goals straight after the break which left the home side with a mountain to climb. Warriors lost goalkeper Kimball Humphries to injury after Warsop had missed a penalty and he was replaced by Jacob Rowland who could do nothing to stop Warsops 4th and 5th goals. Warriors still kept going forward in search of a goal to finish the season off and they got their reward when Charlie Gisborne headed home after a shot from Austin Baker was only parried by the goalkeeper.

Hucknall Warriors U 10 3 V Beeston Centurions U10 6

Goal scorers: Kane Pickard, Kimball Humphries
Match type: League
Man of the match: Not stated
Match Location: Home

Hucknall Warriors Under 10 had a fantastic start to this Young Elizabethan Under 10 Sunday Red fixture when Austin Baker latched onto a through ball and rammed a shot into the top corner after only 2 minutes played.

Warriors continued to push for a second but were stunned by an equaliser after dominating possession 10 minutes later.

Undeterred, Warriors pressed forward with great attacking play by Kane Pickard and Ellis Osborne linking with Austin Baker allowing the ball to fall to Kane Pickard to slot home to make it 2-1 to Warriors.

Great defensive work by Harry Wright and Blake Swannell kept the shots from Centurions to a minimum with great cover by Charlie Gisborne and George Seddon in midfield to break down any attacks but were unlucky to concede a second for a 2-2 half time scoreline.

The second half saw Lewis Toop and Jacob Rowland working tirelessly and Toop almost scored when a loose ball fell to him but his shot was well saved.

The heat and Warriors tireless endeavour conspired to allow Centurions to get a foothold for a period and they scored a 3rd and 4th before man-of-the-match Austin Blake scored his second with a great long-range shot.

Beeston continued to test Warriors keeper Kimball Humphries who’s distribution was excellent yet again and two further goals made the final score 6-3 which seemed a little harsh after one of Warriors best performances of the season against worthy opposition.
