Hucknall Warriors Under 15 Red celebrated the end of a successful season with their long established tradition of taking part in the Hucknall Warriors Charity Shield. This consists of a one off match against a guest team and the money is raised by the players playing to play and a raffle which took place during the game. This year local rivals and friends Hucknall Sports Under 15 were invited to play the match which took place at Hucknall Town F.C.
The game itself was a close encounter with both teams showing their commitment and level of skill which is typical of Hucknall Youth football as both teams draw the majority of their players from the Hucknall area. Warriors took an early lead with two goals by Nyran Wright but by half time Hucknall Sports had equalised with two top draw goals. Second half was end to end as both teams went for the win but in the dying minutes Regan Scott volleyed home to give Warriors a slender win.
The real winners of the day of course were the charity Help for Heroes as the lads and parents raised £124 between them. This was a great advert not only for the standard of local youth football but for Hucknall youth in general as all the players to great pride in doing their bit for the charity.
A mention must also go to Hucknall Town F.C who provided all the facilities for the day.
Warriors TV were also on hand to capture some of the action, you can view the video by clicking here.
