Hucknall Warriors Under 10 had a fantastic start to this Young Elizabethan Under 10 Sunday Red fixture when Austin Baker latched onto a through ball and rammed a shot into the top corner after only 2 minutes played.
Warriors continued to push for a second but were stunned by an equaliser after dominating possession 10 minutes later.
Undeterred, Warriors pressed forward with great attacking play by Kane Pickard and Ellis Osborne linking with Austin Baker allowing the ball to fall to Kane Pickard to slot home to make it 2-1 to Warriors.
Great defensive work by Harry Wright and Blake Swannell kept the shots from Centurions to a minimum with great cover by Charlie Gisborne and George Seddon in midfield to break down any attacks but were unlucky to concede a second for a 2-2 half time scoreline.
The second half saw Lewis Toop and Jacob Rowland working tirelessly and Toop almost scored when a loose ball fell to him but his shot was well saved.
The heat and Warriors tireless endeavour conspired to allow Centurions to get a foothold for a period and they scored a 3rd and 4th before man-of-the-match Austin Blake scored his second with a great long-range shot.
Beeston continued to test Warriors keeper Kimball Humphries who’s distribution was excellent yet again and two further goals made the final score 6-3 which seemed a little harsh after one of Warriors best performances of the season against worthy opposition.
