Last game of the season for the Warriors in the Chad Mansfield youth league U14 Div 2 saw them travel to FC interski to look for the best possible league finish that they could achieve. On a hard bumpy pitch both teams struggled to get into any sort of rhythm and with chances a rarity the game looked like it had a draw written all over it. Warriors did their best to play some good passing football particularly down the wings with Luke Atter and Sam Wells linking up well with Michael South and Regan Scott. Close efforts by Joe Gill, Matt Brierley and Andreas kokkinou could have gave the warriors the advantage during the first period but it was not to be as the half came to a close.
The second half began to open up as both teams went in search of the win and only a great point blank save from Warriors keeper Jack Grainger stopped them from going behind. With the game in the balance Warriors struck, a Charlie Miller corner found its way through the crowd to Michael South loitering on the corner of the box who calmly picked his spot back through the crowd and past the Interski keeper into the net to give the Warriors the advantage.
Jack Grainger was called upon to make another couple of important saves to make sure the Warriors picked up all three points. A game of very few clear cut chances but on balance Warriors deservedly coming out on top.
